What can I do about abuse?
I used to work for Haddows, and I was badly bullied by my manager... making me do things which threatened my health, telling me I would lose my job if I didn't. Eventually I lost my temper and swore at him to leave me alone, and I got fired for "severe language". Now my girlfriend works there, and she's getting bullied in the same way. The other day we got called at 9am on her first day off in 3 weeks, and it was him demanding to speak to her. I refused, and he gave me a tirade of abuse much worse than I had used against him. What can I do about this? It was awful while I was there - I wasn't sleeping, was having severe health issues, and was constantly afraid for my job. Now I'm still looking for more work, but still gettting the same abuse off of him. I can't take it any more, and I don't know what to do.

- make friends with everyone that works there. then whatever business he is in start your own. then get everyone to quit that is working at your old bosses job and offer them one more dollar an hour if they come work for you! hope this helps!!!!!!! o and give your girlfriend the top most important job besides yours! it will show her that you care about her!
- Report him to the labor board. I'm sure if he did it to you and your girlfriend he's doing it to others also.
- Call the cops, or else.....I can't explain.
- This is so common in the work place and you are certainly not the first person to encounter this. Personally I am glad you are out of there because it would have taken a much harder toll on your self esteem. People like this (and there are many) need reported to human rights and to his bosses or board members and any one else you can think of. It will only get worse and letting him off the hook is saying it is okay. Many employers abuse their workers because they know how badly some of them need a job/money, but it will do no good to anyone when they get sick from the abuse and torment, and production always goes down. Personal health must come first! It's time to take a stand and whether or not he gets reprimanded doesn't matter because you will have made a statement that this behaviour is not okay and given his crap back to him. Then you will sleep again and be proud you stood up for yourself, as well others who are and will go through this. It's a step for all employees around the globe and more people need to do this, job or no job. The more people that report abuse in the work place, the better it will get for those that follow us. Take care and I so wish you well with this.
